Outside of Inside
Coleman Burke Gallery Show
We were given the opportunity to show our work at Coleman Burke Gallery in NYC during the fall of 2009. We filled the 2,000 Sq. foot space with a collection of characters poking fun at the art world and its clichés and stereotypes. The narrative is a fictional art show featuring cartoon paintings lining the walls and a gathering of life-sized anthropomorphic characters representing folks we would see at art shows. A hippopotamus snapping analog photos, a koala with a super fancy Casio flip phone (it was 2009), and a chameleon whose shorts are so short you would notice, if their walker with tennis ball feet wasn’t stealing your attention. We also built a small basketball court in a side room with birds playing 2 on 2, just because. Shout out Larry Legend.
